Godalming

To have the highest quality of life in Great Britain, Waverley, which includes Godalming, was judged in 2013, and to be the most prosperous place in the UK in 2016. In Domesday Book of 1086, Godalming appears as Godelminge. On the Portsmouth Direct Line, the town by the railway station of Godalming is served.

Henry Marshall was the Godalming mayor. When it became the first in the world to have installed a public electricity supply, Godalming came to world attention in September 1881. The Pepperpot', which is the town hall that is old of Godalming, is one of its famous landmarks.

In the Holloway Hill of Godalming is Godalming College. In the Farncombe of Godalming is Godalming Junior School. Formerly St Mark's, covers the first two-year groups is Green Oak C of E Primary School but by a year group will expand annually, it is in Godalming's Ockford Ridge area.

At the centre of Godalming, Godalming Baptist Church is a Baptist church. Currently plays in level 8 of the South's Ryman Division One, of English football, Godalming Town F.C. in 1950 was formed and plays games at Wey Court, Meadrow Formed following the Old Guildfordians RFC and Guildford & Godalming RFC merger in 2002, Guildford Rugby Club plays at Godalming's Broadwater Sports Club in the South West London 2 league.

The Godalming Town Council has 138 listed buildings, of which 18 of which are monuments, and 82 are within the centre itself. A memorial fountain, a Godalming Museum section, garden walk near the church, and cloister, and a public house of the Wetherspoons-chain named in his honour include ways around the town that Phillips is commemorated in. Founded in 1975, for sixteen- to nineteen-year-olds it caters and is maintained by the state on Godalming Grammar School.

In the Farncombe of Godalming is Broadwater School, caters for young people from 11 to 16 and has no 6th form. Founded in 1881, Godalming Angling Society to lakes and the River Wey has fishing rights to Guildford from Lower Eashing. In Milford, the Technology College of Rodborough is on the Godalming outskirts, Rake Lane.
